Su página web lo define como: Fàbrica Moritz Barcelona, un punto de encuentro en el centro de Barcelona dónde la gastronomía, la cultura i las actividades de ocio se dan la mano en un espacio renovado por el arquitecto Jean Nouvel. La verdad es que ha quedado arquitectónicamente (y sin tener ningún conocimiento) muy bien. La decoración, los espacios, la distribución… todo para proporcionar a este local un ambiente novedoso y moderno pero conservando la historia y los detalles más emblemáticos de la antigua fábrica. Puedes incluso hacer un tour (Gratuito y sin necesidad de ser cliente) por las antiguas instalaciones de la fábrica, dónde te van explicando y enseñando como se elaboraba la cerveza, dónde se guardaba, etc. El tipo de gente es joven, de entre 30-40 años, el ambiente muy acelerado para mi gusto. Muchos camareros, mucha gente y mucho movimiento durante todo el rato

Their website defines this restaurant as: Fàbrica Moritz Barcelona, a meeting point in the center of Barcelona where the cuisine, the culture and leisure activities come together in a space renovated by the architect Jean Nouvel. The truth is that it is architecturally (and without having any knowledge) is very nice. The decoration, the spaces, the distribution ... all to give to this place a new and modern look but preserving the history and emblematic details of the old factory. You can even do a tour (for free, without being a customer) in the old factory premises, where they explain you how the beer was produced, where it was stored, etc.. The people eating there were young, aged 30-40 years, and the atmosphere was very fast for my taste. Many waiters and crowds the whole time.

EL SERVICIO / SERVICE

Como ya he comentado hay muchos camareros; eso no quiere decir que el servicio sea inmediato, hay tantos porqué hay mucha gente y el ritmo es frenético. Tardamos un rato en sentarnos y poder pedir. Durante la cena si querías algo tenías que llamar a algún camarero para que te atendiera. No obstante el trato fue bueno y agradable.

As I said there are many waiters, that does not mean that the service is immediate, there are so many people working because there is a lot of people and the timing is frenetic. It took a while to sit down and order. During dinner if you wanted something you had to call a waiter. But the deal was good and friendly.

EL MENÚ/MENU

La carta es muy extensa, demasiado para mi gusto. Por una parte esto es bueno porque tienes mucho dónde elegir, pero al haber tantos platos, si no tienes las cosas muy claras puedes dudar mucho a la hora de elegir. En la carta hay ensaladas, fritos, bocadillos, tapas, resistencia (se refiere a platos consistentes), algunos platos alemanes y otras opciones que ahora mismo no recuerdo. Para mí, la mejor opción, cuando vas a un sitio dónde hay tanta variedad, es compartir, para poder probar más cosas.

The menu is extensive, so much for my taste. On the one hand this is good because you have a lot to choose, but on the other hand with so many dishes. The menu includes salads, fried snacks, tapas, resistance (complete dishes), some German dishes and other options that I cannot remember right now. For me, the best option when you go to a place where there is so much variety, is to share, is the best way to try more things.

PATATAS BRAVAS

Nosotros pedimos bravas para compartir. En muchos restaurantes las patatas bravas no valen nada, pero aquí las denominadas “d’aquí” estaban riquísimas. También pedimos una quiche, la presentación buena y la quiche también, no puedo decir lo mismo de la ensalada que la acompañaba que no tenía sabor de nada, solo a hoja verde. También pedimos “pebrots del piquillo” con brandada de bacalao, bastante bueno, aunque he probado mejores. La focaccia “normal”, porqué había varias, estaba perfecta, el sabor, la textura y la presentación más que aceptables.

We ordered patatas bravas to share. In many restaurants the patatas bravas are worthless, but here the so-called "d'aquí" were delicious. We also ordered a quiche, it had a good presentation and quiche taste good, I cannot say the same for the salad, it had no flavor at all, just to green leaf. We also asked "pebrots del piquillo" with brandade of cod, the taste was pretty good, although I have tried better ones. The focaccia "normal", was perfect, the flavor, the texture and the presentation were more than acceptable.

FOCCACIA

Lo mejor de todo (sin tener en cuenta la cerveza, que para algo es la antigua fábrica Moritz) fueron los postres. El pastel de zanahoria riquísimo y la tarta tatin igual. Tanto a lo que se refiere a presentación como al sabor, aunque el precio era un poco elevado.

The best of all (except the beer, the restaurant is the old beer factory Moritz) were the desserts. The carrot cake and tarte tatin were so good. Both the presentation and taste, but the price was a bit high for my opinion.

El precio final puede variar bastante dependiendo de lo que pidas, ya sean tapas, bocadillos, platos, etc; a nosotros nos salió alrededor de los 20-25€. En definitiva, un buen lugar para ir con los amigos antes de salir de fiesta o salir a socializarse pero nada recomendado si lo que se busca es intimidad y tranquilidad o simplemente un sitio económico dónde comer bien.

Es un restaurante en mi opinión mal ubicado, el exterior no llama mucho la atención pero la ambientación interior una vez entras es perfecta. No sé si nunca habéis ido a un restaurante etíope pero este restaurante es estupendo a lo que decoración se refiere. El tipo de gente, como todo Grácia en general, es bastante heterogéneo. Había desde familias con sus hijos, turistas, gente joven o curiosos (como yo). Tanto las mesas como la decoración interior están bastante bien cuidadas, con motivos etíopes en todos los rincones. En el interior, las mesas se distribuyen los lados, consisten en una especie de mesas y unos taburetes a su alrededor (no muy cómodos por cierto).

In my opinion, the restaurant is located in a bad place, you don’t pay attention to the restaurant if you walk by, but once you step inside, the atmosphere is perfect. I do not know if you've never been to an Ethiopian restaurant but this restaurant has great ethnic a decoration. The kind of people you’ll find is quite heterogeneous. There are families with children, tourists, young people or curious people (like me). Decoration and tables are very well maintained, with Ethiopian motifs all over the place. Inside, the tables are distributed on the sides, these consist of a species of tables and few stools around (not very comfortable by the way)

EL SERVICIO / SERVICE

Desde el primer momento muy bueno. Entramos primero para reservar, nos dijeron que no había ningún problema, y de hecho, la mayoría de gente viene sin reservar. Una vez en la mesa, vinieron y nos explicaron las diferentes opciones que teníamos. En nuestro caso, y al ser la primera vez, nos aconsejo un menú degustación de varios platos, en el que podíamos repetir de lo que nos gustara más. Durante toda la cena vinieron varias veces para ver si queríamos repetir o si todo estaba correcto. Suficiente para ser agradable y sentirte atendido sin llegar a ser molesto.

Since the beginning it was perfect. We book earlier, although is not necessary , and in fact, most people come without booking before. Once at the table, the waiter came and explained the different options we had. In our case, the first time there, we were recommended to take a tasting menu of several dishes, where we could repeat what we liked. Throughout the dinner the waiter came several times to see if we wanted to repeat or if everything was ok. Enough to be nice but not annoying.

BANDEJA CON VARIOS PLATOS TÍPICOS

Cuando vino el camarero, nos explico como teníamos que comer. No tienes cubiertos con lo que tienes que comer con las manos. La idea básica es que con la ayuda de un tipo de pan (los tres rollos de la foto y la base) vas cogiendo trozos de pan con el que te ayudas para coger el resto de salsas, ensalada o carne. Los sabores son bastante variados, para mi los mejores los dos de ternera y el de lentejas, entre otros había también ensalada (con aguacate y tomate), un huevo duro negro, queso fresco (sin sabor) , patatas con zanahoria y pollo.

When the waiter came, he explained us how we should eat. You don’t have cutlery you have to eat with your hands. The basic idea is that with the help of a bread (the three scrolls of the photo and the base where the dishes are on) you pick pieces of bread and then, with this bread you get the rest of sauces, salad or meat. The flavors are quite varied, for me the best were the two beef dishes and the lentils, among others dishes there were also salad (with avocado and tomato), black boiled egg, cheese (flavourless), potatoes with carrots and chicken.

Al lado tienes servilletas para secarte las manos. En el menú también había incluido una bebida y el postre. Para beber pedí cerveza, que era de barril sin más, y de postre una macedonia tropical, con mango, piña, kiwi, leche de coco, canela y alguna otra fruta que no llegue a identificar. El sabor exquisito. En resumen, un buen sitio para descubrir nuevos sabores y lugares. La comida y el trato son muy buenos. El menú en cuestión nos salió a 20€, con bebida y postre. Es un buen sitio para ir tanto en familia como con amigos; teniendo en cuenta el handicap de la "incomodidad" de comer en esos taburetes y tener que comer con las manos, pero muy recomendable para probar al menos una vez.

I ordered beer, and a tropical fruit salad for desert, with mango, pineapple, kiwi, coconut milk, cinnamon and some other fruit that I wasn’t able to identify. The taste was exquisite. To sum up, this restaurant is a good place to discover new flavors. The food and service are very good. The menu in question costs 20€, with drink and dessert included. It is a good place to go with your family or with friends, having in mind the handicap of "discomfort" to eat in those stools and have to eat with your hands, but highly recommended to try at least once.
